Ariel Chao is a Class of 2014 Economics and East Asian Studies double major at Wellesley College. Through the 2009 TACL LID Camp: Revival, she discovered her Taiwanese American identity which has encouraged her to become an active member in the TA community at Wellesley and in the greater Boston area. She currently serves as the Co-Programming Chair for the Wellesley Taiwanese Cultural Organization (TCO) and as the East Coast District Chair for the Intercollegiate Taiwanese American Students Association (ITASA). Ariel will also be serving as the Miss Taiwanese American 5th Princess for the 2011-2012 year. She loves boba, surfing, and hitting the hot springs in Ilan, Taiwan and enjoys playing for the Wellesley Blue Varsity Soccer Team.
Internship Reflection: This internship program allowed me to develop a deeper understanding of what it means to be TA and how to promote our culture and so forth. It was the LID Camp x 9. The relationships that I have developed this summer are priceless. I’m really grateful for this political internship program and definitely hope to come back after my undergrad years to help out. It has given me friends, family, connections and invaluable memories.
