Sharon Jan is a graduate of the Orange County High School of the Arts, where she studied Creative Writing. Her time there led to her interest in screenwriting, for which she won a national award through the Young Arts competition. (She will also be featured with John Guare, a renowned playwright, in the second season of Masterclass, a documentary series on HBO). She attends Pomona College, tentatively as a Politics major. She was a former TACL Journalism Intern, a 2010 Scholarship recipient, and a 2010 Political Intern in Assemblymember Mike Eng's office. In her free time, she enjoys baking and riding her beach cruiser.
Internship Reflection:
"While I’m still not sure if public service is where I see myself, I’ve tapped into something precious. I’ve been in many TACL programs—the LID camp, the journalism internship program. People involved tell me things: how these friends were for forever, how TACL did something—magical, inexplicable, changing people. Sometimes they have a hard time understanding. Others are more eloquent than I can be. But either way, yes. I understand. I suppose, at this end of things, I should say something to everybody involved in TACL: Thank you. I’ll be in touch."
