Born and raised in Taiwan, Candice Hung survived on the mean streets of Taipei by eating anything and everything one can find in a local Night Market. After moving to Los Angeles, Candice quickly became a Taiwanese and Asian American activist. During college, Candice served as the President of the Taiwanese American Union at UCLA as well as the Executive Director of the 2006 ITASA West Coast Conference. Candice first became involved with TACL as a Political Intern for the office of former California Assembly Member Judy Chu. Currently, Candice serves as a Board Member for TACL National and coordinated the Journalism Internship Program for TACL-Los Angeles from 2009-2010. Outside of Taiwanese American organizing, Candice is working to complete a Master degree in Urban Planning. Candice’s additional passions include social justice, international development, sustainability, traveling, and fantasy football.
