Catherine Yu is an urban planner for City of Yorba Linda. Her job involves being in charge of a wide range of current development plans, as well as long-range plans for the city. She received two bachelor degrees from UC Irvine, one in Environmental Analysis and Design, and the other in Studio Art, before she went on to UCLA for a master degree in Urban Planning. Professionally, she also served as an executive board member of the American Planning Association, Los Angeles Section.
She takes pride in contributing to the community, thus she served as the Director of Cultural Events for YGAP (Young Generation Asian Professional) for two terms, and is a current board member of the Friends of Taiwan organization. Her reign as the 2006-2007 Miss Taiwan USA first princess also brought her very close to the Taiwanese American community. In her spare time, she enjoys painting, singing, reading, traveling, spending quality time with loved ones, and everything else that relates to arts and culture.
