Thank you again to all of you who have taken the time out of your busy schedule to make an impact in our community. It's been an honor to have been given the opportunity to serve with our past cabinet the last two years, and strive to make a difference in the community.

Since part of TAP's mission is to develop community-oriented leaders, it's now time for others to take more active leadership roles, and my term will officially end this Saturday.
I therefore hope you will join me and others for the 07-08 cabinet's LAST event, and the FIRST for our 08-09 cabinet: our biggest and signature event of the year, Banquet & Casino Night at the Kyoto Grand Hotel & Gardens (formerly New Otani). This is the event to bring our community out, to come together to network, to celebrate, honor those who have made a difference, highlight upcoming talent, transition, and have fun! Come to meet the new cabinet members and see live performances by TA's Diana Li and Kaila Yu! Tickets can be reserved through any cabinet member or purcha sed HERE.

This year, our bar is hosted by Courvoisier! LIMITED Banquet Dinner tickets may still be available! Purchase TODAY!

On Sunday, hope you can join us in volunteering for the Harvest Moon Festival. Stop by the TAP Booth!

Have ideas, suggestions for our events? Interested in volunteering at our Casino Night? Contact myself or new President Ed Chen, or VP Yvonne Hsu

Thanks!

Featured Taiwanese American Honorees:
SINGER-SONGWRITER VIENNA TENG
She shares her name with the Austrian home of Mozart and Beethoven. And she herself studied classical piano from the age of five. But there's nothing old-world about the music of Vienna Teng, whose music brings to mind artists as diverse as Tori Amos, Simon & Garfunkel and Radiohead. A former Stanford computer science grad, and software engineer in Silicon Valley, she gave all that up to pursue her musical passions - a risky career move that has paid off. She has 3 critically acclaimed albums: 2002's Waking Hour, 2004's Warm Strangers, and 2006's Dreaming Through the Noise. They have landed on three Billboard album charts and reached #2 on Amazon's best-seller list. She's appeared on the Late Show with David Letterman and toured widely, opening for such artists as Shawn Colvin, Joan Osborne, Patty Griffin, Joan Baez and the Indigo Girls.
ASSEMBLYMEMBER TED LIEU
Represents the 53rd Assembly District covering the South Bay. Prior to his Assembly election in 2005, Lieu served on the Torrance City Council, as well as the City's Environmental Quality 7 Energy Conservation Commission. He worked tirelessly on issues that he continues as an Assemblymember - education, public safety, the environment and transportation. Dedicated to his country, Lieu currently holds the rank of Major in the US Air Force Reserves, and served on active duty for 4 years as a member of the JAG Corps. He is Chair of the Asian Pacific Islander (API) Legislative Caucus, and was honored at the 2007 APALS Reception as a keynote speaker.

Irwindale Speedway

Irwindale Speedway, aka "The House of Drift," is home of the first sanctioned drifting event back in 2003. Formula DRIFT has made this the traditional final stop of the season. The infamous banked oval into tight turns has become a staple of the series. This track is the home course for most of the drivers and the competition will be fiercer than ever.

As the final competition of the season the drivers will let it all hang out and go for the victory. Last year the Castrol SYNTEC Power Cup Championship was decided at the Finals. Can Tanner Foust repeat? This event also marks the 3rd stop of the Tires.com Triple Crown and is still anyone's for the taking. Who will come home with the grand prize? Last year's champion Chris Forsberg was awarded and crowned at this event. With everything on the line this will be the Final Fight!

TAP members, friends, family, etc. receive $2 off online purchase only by entering discount code "TAP" (not case sensitive)!
