From the President: Dear TAP friends, After they collect our community's donation, they will hand it to the genial rescue organization, such as the American Red Cross. Taiwan Center Foundation of Greater Los Angeles is a non-profit organization under the IRS Code 501(C) 3. Your contribution is tax deductible to the extent allowed by law. Nov. 6th was Election Day, and we hope everyone exercised their Democratic right as citizen's to go out and vote! There were several Asian American candidates as well as Taiwanese Americans that ran for positions. Make sure you research them and help support their bids in the future, if you agree with their ideals and goals. TAP congratulates our own member and a former TACL Political Intern, for winning a seat on the Board of Hacienda-La Puente Unified School District! Hope to see you at this month's events, there are several community events, as well as our own events ranging from social, cultural, professional, and community service. The events will help expand your network, help develop you professionally, and help you give back to the community. TAP Movie and Dinner TAP Dinner and a movie continues this month! Join us for a movie by Taiwanese director Hou Hsiao-Hsien, and Argentian food afterwards! Movie (6:45PM): Please RSVP in advance. This is a grass-roots mobilization effort to engage the community through advocacy and volunteerism. United Way of Greater Los Angeles in partnership with The Fannie Mae Foundation has collaborated with PATH Partners to back the "A Pathway Home" initiative. Please join TAP as a volunteer on Saturday, November 17, 2007 in our effort to raise awareness and draw support to initiatives to end homelessness. The volunteer shift will be from 10am - 2pm. This will be a day to be informed of upcoming law changes to be aware of. This is also your chance for an informal Q&A with a police officer. Have you ever had questions about certain laws? Have you wondered about the life of Police Officers, and always had questions you wanted to ask? Here is your chance to speak candidly with an officer of the law.
