From the President: Hi friends: In April, we were able to raise another $500 at the Social at Aqua Lounge, to donate to youth programs, specifically for the TACL Political Internship program that helps develop leaders within our community, to become involved, and gain first hand political office experience, so that we can improve upon our representation. We had close to 200 attendees who networked, mingled, drank, and danced the night away! See the pictures HERE. We also supported the Asian Excellence Awards which highlights those Asians who have helped pave the way for the rest of us. At the end of April we held a volunteer event for the Parent's Place Fair for the second consecutive year, helping to assist special needs children. This month of May we supported the VC Film Fest, and co-presented two films, The Joyful Life, and The Drummer. May also marks the beginning of Asian Pacific Heritage Month, and Taiwanese American Heritage Week. We are recruiting volunteers to help with the first ever Taiwanese Cultural Festival in LA May 10th and 11th. The 9th Annual Taiwan Cup Golf Classic is also during Taiwanese American Heritage Week on May 14th. We are starting our Annual Banquet & Casino Night planning, so anyone interested in helping with this event to be held in August, please contact me. Also, elections of our cabinet members will take place in July. If interested in getting more involved and want more information, please contact myself or Vice President Leslie Shei. Ben Ling
