From the President: Hi friends: Happy 4th of July! It's hard to believe that we are more than halfway through the year already, and almost at the end of our elected terms at TAP. It has been an incredible year, and I am excited at how the organization has continued to grow. June was filled with events dedicated at professional development with a seminar on Graduate School Admissions and a Career Development Seminar that focused on hiring trends in China, and how to position yourself to work at a multi-national firm. At the end of June, several TAP Members were also invited to a special dinner with Ambassador Joseph Wu of Taiwan, for an informative private dialogue to learn more about current Taiwan and US relations. Summer is in full swing, but we aren't letting up, with many more events this month. Our elections for officers is also fast approaching, and we count entirely upon un-paid volunteers to make TAP successful. It has been a fun and busy year, but we can continue to improve with your help! Please feel free to contact me if you are interested in getting involved. Applications for cabinet are due by July 25th and our election luncheon is on August 5th. Application link is above. There are a ton of upcoming events by TAP and in the community this month for you to network, to develop professionally, learn about current issues, help out with a cultural community event, and also get more involved. notably, our biggest event of the year is coming up on August 11th. Our Annual Banquet and Casino Night, featuring Director Justin Lin and Community Advocate TsuAnn Kuo as our honorees. Discounted presale tickets end on July 27th! Food & Wine Tasting Benefit 2007 TAP is a Community Affiliate for this event! Selected One of Citysearch's Top 10 Things to Do This Summer for THREE Straight Years! This signature gala will once again showcase savory and dessert tastings by talented chefs from the best restaurants in Los Angeles and New York, as well as samplings from premier wineries and beverage companies. The Food & Wine Tasting Benefit is Project by Project's marquee event, an annual tradition to raise awareness and funds for its partnership with different under-served non-profit organizations. In celebration of the 10 year anniversary of Project by Project (PbP), we are focusing our efforts on elevating the organization to the next level. For this one year, PbP will be harnessing our energies to bring awareness of PbP as a nonprofit organization and not taking on additional partner causes. To celebrate the accomplishments of the past ten years of PbP, we will highlight and honor all our past partners. PbP views it as having not one partner for outreach programming but several partners to work with in this 10th Anniversary celebration year. The funds raised from this year's Food & Wine Tasting Benefit, that in the past have been distributed to partner organizations will be directed to the PbP national endowment to support and strengthen the organization's infrastructure so that we are in a better position to continue our work in the community.
