From the President:

Happy New Year Everyone!
Last month, we celebrated the New Year with other Community groups with proceeds that helped benefit LTSC, and other non-profits. We also held our Christmas Dinner Toy Drive, followed by our Volunteer Event with the Heartfelt Foundation's Christmas For Needy Children Event. The toy donations from our members helped to go to children who would never have been able to receive a Christmas gift this year. The event drew over 1,200 people, mostly children. Pictures of many of our past events can be found here: http://tap.tacl.org/gallery.htm

This month and the next, we continue with events to help people to develop professionally, to network, make new friends, bring the community together, and promote and preserve our identity.

This year marks an important year in both the US and Taiwan, with both countries having their Presidential Elections. We hope you will exercise your Democratic right to vote, and be involved in your community. If interested in observing the Taiwan Elections, FAPA YPG is hosting an Election Tour 3/13-3/26. Go here for info: http://ypg.fapa.org/events/. Deadline is Saturday, January 19!

If you have any college friends or family, please pass on the info about the TACL Political Internship Program. It aims to develop young community leaders here in the US by placing them in elected official's offices in LA, OC, SF, and Washington DC. Info is here: http://tacl.org/la/politicalinternship.html

See below for all of our upcoming events and opportunities.

Thank you,

Ben Ling
TAP President
