From the President:

Hi friends:

In March, we were able to raise $500, to donate to the ITASA Midwest Conference at our recent March Madness Dinner/Mixer! Thanks to everyone who came out! Attendees enjoyed good food, drinks, music, and company. Our newest member also won the drawing for 2 free Lakers tickets! March also held a public speaking workshop to develop our members, and there was a tremendous turnout for a Happy Hour in West LA. Recent pictures are now updated HERE.

In April, we continue with two volunteer events, another Happy Hour, and a special event fundraising networking social at Aqua Lounge. The funds raised at Aqua Lounge will specifically be donated back towards TA youth programs, which include the internship opportunities in this bulletin, and the revival of a Leadership Identity Development camp for middle school and high schoolers to be held in mid-August. TAP is dedicated to supporting these programs to develop the next generation, which require adequate financial support and manpower. If you have friends, or family in high school or college, please encourage high schoolers to apply to the TACL Journalism Internship, and college students for the Political Internship. Applications still being accepted. These are areas where Asian Americans, and especially Taiwanese Americans do not have adequate representation.

This month we also are supporting the Asian Excellence Awards, to highlight our community, and have limited discount tickets available HERE. Finally, the registration deadline for the 9th Annual Taiwan Cup Golf Classic is at the end of April, and we are now recruiting volunteers to help with the Taiwan Cultural Festival on May 10th - 11th.

If you have any comments, questions, suggestions, or want to get more involved, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Ben Ling
TAP President
