TACL Accepting Aspiring Interns for its Exclusive Entertainment Internship Program

Taiwanese Americans Citizens League is proud to announce the return of its Entertainment Internship (EI). EI is a national initiative which seeks to place aspiring Taiwanese American students and professionals into the film and television industry and impact the intersection of Taiwanese Americans in the media.

“After a hiatus of a few years, we are glad to bring back the EI program,” said Ben Ling, TACL National President. “In a society that is becoming more media savvy, it is important we create programs that allow young Taiwanese Americans more career access.”

The EI will give accepted candidates who express an interest in the fields of entertainment and media exposure to various roles in production offices and on-set locations. The EI program will last 7 weeks from June 26th through August 14, culminating with the creation of an original video to be presented at the EI closing ceremony.

The TACL-EI program will accept 5-8 interns this summer and provide on-the-spot training. Interns will be placed in rotations of casting, production and set location shoots. Past mentors & organizations have included Justin Lin, Reuben Lim, Visual Communications. Past EI interns have worked on projects including the Oscar Award Winning short “West Bank Story” and original video “Black, White, Taiwanese.”

Guidelines and restrictions for all applicants are:

  • You must be at least 18 years old, and a Taiwanese American.
  • You must have your own reliable transportation in and around greater Los Angeles.
  • You must be prepared to work long hours if necessary.
  • You must have an interest in the entertainment industry.

While no knowledge of film/tv production is necessary, any previous background will be helpful.
