Emily Wu (吳怡萱) is a second generation Taiwanese American who was born in El Dorado, Arkansas. After first grade, her family moved to the Los Angeles. For college, she studied Psychology & Social Behavior with a minor in Education at U.C. Irvine. Her active involvement in the Taiwanese American community began when she participated in a local pageant and was given the title of Taiwan Goodwill Ambassador.  Thereafter, she realized that true Taiwanese beauty is not just about looking pretty, but also having the curiosity to know & understand what Taiwanese culture is really about.  As a result, she became more involved in Taiwanese American Citizens League (TACL), Los Angeles Chapter. With TACL, she helped the Taiwanese 2010 Census campaign & currently assists with the Scholarship Program, & coordinates the Journalism Internship Program (JIP). In addition, she has volunteered for the Taiwan Center Foundation of Greater Los Angeles (台灣會館) in their 三太子dance group. In her spare time, she enjoys reading & keeping up to date with the happenings of US, Taiwan, & China politics as well as the happenings of the Asian American community.
