Stephanie Lai is a Program Associate at The James Irvine Foundation's California Democracy program, which aims to advance effective public policy decision making that is reflective of and responsive to all Californians. As a native of northern Virginia, Stephanie attended the Washington, D.C. Taiwanese Language School. Stephanie holds Bachelor of Arts degrees in Social Studies and Music from Harvard University, where she graduated magna cum laude and was elected to Phi Beta Kappa. In the Bay Area, Stephanie has volunteered as a counselor for TACL's Leading Youth Forward camp. An avid cellist who performs widely, Stephanie also has a Masters in Cello Performance from the Royal Northern College of Music and is currently Assistant Principal Cellist in the Berkeley Symphony.
